To all our valued supporters
Firstly, thank you to all our volunteers who have helped so far in getting season 2023 off the ground, the support is much appreciated.
As we come into our first home game this weekend and off the back of round 1 at Tanunda last Saturday there are a couple of areas, we as a football club would like to address and remind our supporters of as we all get ready for our first home game of the season.
Football is a game of passion, and we all enjoy nothing more than supporting our players and kids that put the Bulldogs jumper on each and every week. We love the passionate support that is shown during all games, at all levels and we want that to continue.
Last Saturday we had a few instances where there was some overly aggressive verbal behavior towards umpires and opposition players across multiple grades which was unnecessary.
We remind all our supporters that you are representing our football club and whilst we encourage you to show passion, support, and cheer on all our teams we need to control the unnecessary verbal behavior towards umpires that is not acceptable or needed. These comments only fuel the situation at hand and do the game no overall favors in retaining umpires and encouraging parents to want their children to grow up playing football at our club.
Please be aware that we do video every game from U13s through to A grade and will do our due diligent in reporting any on-field behavior or actions we deem necessary across all grades and teams.
We all have a role to play in improving this and we ask that you play your part. See you at the footy
Regards
Craig Wilson
President
